The readiness of the bible
There is a preparation that comes from the scriptures to the reader for the tackling of everyday circumstances, that is essential. Some people look at the bible as a book for leisure or for historical cross reference. The bible is divided into sections for which some have used for debate, there is the Pentateuch; which are the first 4 books of the bible. Then, there are the books of poetry which include Psalms, proverbs, lamentations, and Ecclesiastes. And, then we have the minor prophets which are twelve and include Joel, Amos; there writing are short in text. Then, we have the major prophets which include Jeremiah and Isaiah among other; there are five. Finally, we have the gospels with Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and the Epistles and Revelation. Though, the bible is divided into different section it is all inspired by God (2Tim3:16-17), and not one is less then the other. The entire bible is directly connected with Christ (Jh5:39).
Ephesians 6:15
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Now, all the scripture’s purpose is, among other things, to equip the man of God to tackle down life’s harshest moments, and to lead us to eternal life (1Jh3:13). They refresh the soul (ps19:7), the scriptures have this direct effect on man’s soul. Paul calls the scriptures the gospel of peace, because they provide harmony to man in life, man with God and man with man. The only time peace is required is when there is disagreement between two or more individual, and that has been the case since the beginning. James asks where do wars among us come from (Jm4:1), and he depicts it as coming from within. So, the scriptures purpose is revealed for being a precept after precept to the preparation of the man of God (Is28:10-11).
But, we cannot speak about peace if we do not have peace within ourselves, and with everything that is going on it might be easy for someone to loose their peace; if one loses sight on the Lord. Having our feet fitted with the gospel of peace means that we have peace ourselves. And, the scriptures say that we are blessed when our feet have the gospel (Is52:7).
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of Goda] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
39 You studya] the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,
13 Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters,a] if the world hates you.
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?
For it is: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for thata];a little here, a little there.”11 Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people,
Isaiah52:7
