Sowing and reaping.
There are many humane things that we can practice in order to get along with each other that come with rewards. If you are nice to a person at some point or another someone will be nice to you, today we call it among other names pay it forward. Many know it as a universal law, we know it as a spiritual law in fact the bible calls it sowing. Paul mentions this to the church in Galatians where he states that whatever a man sows that he will reap (Ga6:7). Sometimes our earthly rewards for being good and doing good things and treating others in a Godly manner may take some time, but the rewards will come (Ga6:9-10). God rewards them that diligently seek him, that is the what the scriptures say (Heb11:6). His rewards come according to our needs, so if we are struggling to stay afloat in the faith but are working at it, he will supply to your need.
Matthew 5:8-10
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The Beatitudes are an example of this idea of sowing and reaping with our characters. Jesus at the sermon of the mount. Out of the eight, the first five have rewards according to the character trait. For example, the first beatitude says “Blessed are the poor in spirit” referring to a state of humbleness and humility before God. Whose rewards is to be inserted into the congregation of the poor, the church (v3). The second beatitude speaks about those that mourn and they will be comforted. The type of mourning this one refers to is of a sin repented one, where one will negatively react to any sinful act (v4), and they will be forgiven. The third one, blessed are the meek refers to those who gladly submit to God’s will whatever it is, and their reward is inheriting the earth and all its fullness (v5) according to their needs. And number four, they that thirst and hunger after righteousness (V6) refers to a quest for being right before God. The reward for this quest is a satisfaction of the soul, Jesus said that if anyone is thirst to come to him (Jh7:37-38). The fifth one deals with reaping and sowing, blessed are the merciful because they will be shown mercy (V7).
The last three Beatitudes come with different rewards than the first five. They have a direct correlation with God. For example, number 6 says that the pure in heart will see God (v8). Luke says in Hebrews that without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb12:14). David said that the only ones who will stand God’s holy place are those whose hands and heart are pure (Ps24:3-4). Beatitude number 9 says that the peacemakers will be called children of God (V9). And number 10 says that those who are persecuted will have the kingdom of God as their reward (v10).
Galatians 6:7
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:9-10
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
John 7:37-38
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Hebrews 12:14
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Psalms 24:3-4
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
