A fruit of the mouth

Instructions are getting more and more difficult to digest these days, because the ease that comes with AI. This year Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become the new trend in technology today. The idea that a non-human individual can help us and provide instructions and guidance at any hour of the day what this planet is moving towards. But more to do the things we hate most to do, is what the AI be doing for us. Following detail instructions is one of those things we despise to do. Reading through instruction manuals and having to follow it, who can stand that. But it is a rewarding experience when you can obtain the reward of a given instruction. The bible tells us that a wise son hears his father’s instruction, and it is a blessing to see your child listen and follow something you say; it is a good fruit to eat. But when your child goes the other way and produces something bad, he then has to eat that. Good instructions are a fruit of a good, intended heart. Salomon said that we should hold fast to instruction and not let it go (pr4:13). God tells us that he will give us instructions and will guide us in the way we should go (ps32:8).

Proverbs 13:1-3

A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

When your mouth produces good fruit, a satisfying feeling will follow. When you speak good and edifying things the fruits thereby are going to enrich. The fruit that proceeds from your mouth are a product of your heart. Jesus said that from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Lk6:45). If your heart is full of disappointments and destresses then that is what your mouth is going to produce. The proverb tells us that we need to guard our heart because from it flow the issues of life (pr4:23). There is no other way in which the things we feed our heart can flow, but through the mouth. So, the words that are produced from your heart that flow out of your mouth produce a fruit that you will have to eat. It is like a recycling chamber that produces one thing and then takes it back and then brings it out back again. It is a matter of life and death, eating the things we produce, the cycle of life. V3 tells us that if you keep your mouth, you keep your life but if you open your mouth wide you bring in destruction. In a neuroscience experiment, “Do Words Hurt?”, Maria Richter and collaborating scientists monitored subjects’ brain responses to auditory and imagined negative words. During this process, they discovered painful or negative words increase Implicit Processing (IMP) within the subgenual anterior cingulate cortex (sACC). Put frankly, their study proved that negative words release stress and anxiety-inducing hormones in subjects. Additionally, a study found increased levels of anxiety in children associated with higher rates of negative self-talk. According to the study’s abstract, “These results suggest negative self-talk plays a role in the generation or maintenance of anxiety in normal children. “Ultimately, negative words, whether spoken, heard, or thought, not only cause situational stress, but also contribute to long-term anxiety.

The effect of a good word spoken to someone can positively affect the heart to in turn produce a good fruit that he can indulge on (Pr12:25). Being able to have a good response to something brings joy to the speaker (Pr15:23). There is nothing better and more satisfying than eating a really good fruit.
