Involved in the miracle.

The work of the ministry requires devotion and dedication. And depending on one and how much he devotes it can become a full-time job. The only thing about the ministry of Christ is that there is hardly any monetary gain. Unless one involves him/herself in an established ministry with payroll, then it becomes a volunteer gig. There are benefits that comes from becoming active in the ministry of Christ. If one is interested in witnessing miraculous signs and wonders, then being active in the ministry is where it happens. The bible says that by the laying of hands by people that believe others will recover, in Christ’s name they will cast out devils and if they drink anything poisonous it will not harm them (Mk16:17-18). Peter was able to see monetary miraculous providence when the tax collectors requested that Christ pay his taxes (Mt17:27). And once you become addicted to witnessing the signs and wonders, you won’t be worrying about where you next meal or your necessities comes from.

Mark 6:30-31

30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

The disciples were sent by twos to do the work of the ministry, and they had cast out devils, taught people about Christ. They were so busy that they had forgotten about their own necessities. And Jesus decided to take them to a desert place where they would rest. It is in the desert places where many times God will lead us to commune with us (Ho2:14). Via their efforts the disciples had seen God do mighty things, but a sign was coming that required very little from the disciples. The sign of the feeding of five thousand with just five and two loaves. Jesus told the disciples to feed the people, but they found themselves on a gridlock, because they did not have enough; they only had five and two loaves (Mk6:37-38). Not even with two hundred pennies was going to be enough to feed such a crowd, because the need was greater. The disciples could not comprehend that numbers do not affect Gods plan nor purpose. God used five loaves and two fish to feed the five thousand. He uses the insignificant size to fulfill his plans as in Gedeon, where he used only three hundred men to be a part of a victorious battle (Jdg7:22). Or the jar of flour and jug of oil that would not run out to save the widow and Elijah in the times of the judges (1Kg17:14-15).

God’s deliverance with the insignificance required that someone other than he would be involved. He does not depend on the mighty or the great to deliver (Ps147:10-11).
