Not swaying
With all the questionable things happening today it has become easier to not follow the faith and be a believer. The entertainment industry is causing a more detrimental effect on the church and the followers of Christ than ever. With the opportunities to becoming stars with such social media platforms as tiktok, youtube, facebook and more, talents are leaving or not coming to the church. The scriptures teach us that God has equipped us gifts and talents (Eph4:8), and that they are to be used for God’s kingdom (1Pt4:10-11). Some can sing, some teach, some administer, some organize, and more. We are a talented species equipped to do tremendous things in life. It is important that we encourage each other in stirring up our gifts or talents.
Galatians 6:9
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Our skit dealt with this drummer who got tired of playing for people who would not hear and enjoy his beat portraying as many who will not hear the sound of our gifts. It is what other people do when they discourage the full potential of our gifts resulting in us not doing our very best at things with our gifts. The bible teaches that a broken spirit dries the bones (Prv17:22). Our bones are what help us to stand up right and keep us moving kind of like your gifts. When your bones are dried they become bridle and grind which is a sign of osteoporosis. And, when you are feeling good and are encouraged your gifts should be active. Paul tells us not to get weary of doing good in reference to using our gifts, because good things come when they are used. In due season a good fruit will be harvested when the gifts are continuously used. Jesus said that in this world we would have tribulations, but that we should not fear because he overcame the world (Jhn16:33). Jesus spoke in a parable about the talents, and he mentioned three types of people who were entrusted with talents. The first two when received their talents immediately invested them and received more, but one hid his in a handkerchief and left it alone (Mt25:15).
Ephesians 4:8
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
1 Peter 4:10-11
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Proverbs 17:22
22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
