Hope in God.
Sometimes waiting a little longer past when everything has finished is worth it. In God many of the miracles and wonders happens when the time is lapsed. A marathon runner Matt Rees helps another runner finish the race near the finish line and is praised for his sportsmanship. Lazarus is raised from the dead on the fourth day after the body was decomposed and decay (Jh11:39-41). When all hope was gone, after the funeral service was finished and everyone went to comfort the sister at their home Jesus manifests the glory of God in raising Lazarus. Jonah was running from God and boarded a ship headed to Tarshish, when all of sudden a mighty hurricane caught them in the middle of the sea. The last resort to save the ship’s crew was to toss Jonah into the sea (Jon1:15). When we put our hope in the Lord, it does not cause us to be in shame (Ro5:5). David said we put our hope in the Lord (Ps33:20-22), suggesting that because he loves us, he will come through.
John 20:8-12
8 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9 (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) 10 Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.
11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
Mary Magdalen was the first person the risen Lord appeared too when he first resurrected. And, when she tells the disciples that Jesus was missing from the tomb they ran to witness this event. The scriptures says that as they ran, John ran faster than Peter, but did not go into the tomb because of his unbelief. But Peter went in and then John and then left. They did not wait a little longer because their expectation was not to see a supernatural happening. Mary needed to see the Lord. When we persist to see what God is going to do, we see and experience. Two blind men were following Jesus crying unto him saying “Thou Son of David have mercy on us” (Mt9:27-28), and because they persisted, they were healed. The Psalmist tells us to wait on the Lord (Ps27:14). Jacob wrestled with the angel all night long and would not let him go until he blessed him (Ge32:24-26).
John 11:39-41
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
Jonah 1:15
15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.
Romans 5:5
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
Matthew 9:27-28
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.v
Psalms 27:14
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Genesis 32:24-26
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
