Bible hero or myth
We have all failed and sinned before God, there is not one perfect when it comes down to the way he/she carries his life. The scriptures say that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Ro3:23). There were two individuals whose lifestyle were near perfection; they were both righteous and blameless Job and Noah (Ge6:9, Job1:1). And God used them as saviors for mankind, they did not have any superpowers or abilities only their right standing before their creator. They along with other great men and women of the bible carry the title of heroes. Some of those bible heroes were paganized by the Greeks, for example Samon for Hercules. Scholars parallel the life of Hercules and his supernatural abilities to Samson. Another Greek hero was Archilles who takes after the prophecy in Genesis where God tells the women Eve that the serpent would bruise her seed’s heel (Ge3:15), and the only way he would dies if they would cut Archilles heels. Non bible heroes with supernatural abilities are known to come from the sons of Anak known as Anakim, and from the Nephilim’s. These are believed to be descendants of fallen angels who were giants who had relationship with women (Nu13:33).
John 19:4-8
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
8 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
Pilate was very familiar with Greek Mythology and the pagan heroes, and how from time to time a hero with supernatural abilities, a son of God would show up. So, Pilate presented “The man” as the innocent person and the king or savior he was. His wife had warned him that through dreams this man was indeed a righteous man whom he was about to crucify. So, when the Jews confessed that Jesus was confessing that he was the Son of God, he became terrify. Pilate did not know that he who stood in front of him was true the Son of God and not a myth. Jesus’, the Son of God, mission was not like other heroes to deliver from temporal affliction, but from eternal (2 Cor4:17, 1Jh5:13). He had heard of many miracles and wonders that placed in a position of hero. The battle before us is not for our physical state of being but for our soul and it requires a deliverer who specializes in that.
