Nothing is hid.
Hide and go seek was a game that we used to play when we were kids. The idea of the game was that while everyone was hiding one had the job of finding them. Some of us would try to blend with the drapes, sofas and walls, while others just found some hard-to-find spots. The game goes on life, there are things that we try our best to hide and while some things we successfully hide other things have a way to coming out to the light. The is what Jesus said when he was explaining the parable of the Sower, that nothing that is hid can remain hid, it has come to the light (Lk8:17). Luke tells us in the book of the Hebrews that everything is naked in his eyes (Heb4:14). Jesus said that we cannot serve both God and money in Matthew 6:24, trying to do both is called blending. Jesus also said that we are not of this world and that it will hate us just as it hated him. He calls us to come out of them and to stand out (2Cor6:17).
Luke 19:13-15
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
Jesus tells this parable after the encounter with Zaccheaus, the shorty whom when he tells him that he will go to his house Zac repents from all his wrong doings and offers to repay of which were ten servants. Their lord decides to go off somewhere and gives his servant 10 coins each representing about 4 months of pay, for them to negotiate and make an increase. It is a symbol of all the gifts God has given us. Everyone had the same amount of cash, but only three stood out. Two of them decided to see what would happen if they invested their coin, and indeed they noticed that it multiplied substantially. One, though decided to wrap his coin in a handkerchief and return it to his lord. Now, all three decided to do something with what was handed to them and did not settle with the mainstream. Jesus said that him that has more shall be given to him, taking away the coin from the slothful servant and giving it to his faithful one (26).
Similar to this parable about the 10 minas happened to 10 lepers in Luke 17, that when they encounter Jesus’ healing power only 1 decided to leave the mainstream and returned to give thanks (15-18). The nine others continued their way as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. It is a type of how the church is today, it is just church.
Luke 8:17
17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
Hebrews 4:14
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Matthew 6:24
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
2 Corinthian 6:17
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Luke 19:26
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
Luke 17:15-18
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering said, were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
